If your employer does not provide Liability insurance you may purchase insurance from the Opticians Association of Canada.

COA reminds all practicing and provisional registrants to submit proof of professional liability insurance. This can be a certificate of insurance or letter issued by the insurance broker or employer. Policies must be sent directly to COA by the registrant. The policy must contain:

• Name of insurer 
• Registrant's name
• Expiration date of policy
• Insurance liability of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence
