This years AGM will be held at the Sheraton Hotel (formerly Capri) in Red Deer.  It will be a one day session with one track of seminars.  We're keeping it nice and light for you this year (calorie free as I say).

A registration package and an AGM document package will be sent out to all members in the coming weeks. I will update this page as new information comes in.

This year we will have only two speakers presenting a total of four seminars each an hour in duration with the COA's Annual General Meeting closing out the day.

Speakers

Al Lens will present three sessions:

• What Happens When You Pick The Wrong Parents (1 EC) - 1 hour
  This course will discuss eye diseases that can be genetically imposed along with the signs and symptoms, possible treatment and prognosis
  
• KC and the Sunshine Band (1 EC) - 1 hour
  Keratoconus is a relatively common eye disease. This course will present the typical age of onset, progression, detection and treatment of keratoconus (and it's sister, pellucid marginal degeneration)
  
• Age Old Eyes (1 EC) - 1 hour
  Like most other parts of the body, the eye is prong to the aging process. During this presentation, we will discuss pathology such as macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, and Fuch's dystrophy. Detection, treatment and prognosis of each condition will also be presented.

Trudi Charest will present one session:

• Social Media for Eye Care Professionals (1 EG) - 1 hour
  There is no way to avoid the influence that the internet an social media has on the eye care business. Your customers are online and therefore, like it or not, your business must be as well. This workshop will discuss website optimization and how to get set up and connected on Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn.
